Syria to Remain in Resistance Axis despite Enemy Plots

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The enemies have been trying to make Syria move away from the axis of resistance but have failed to do so, a senior cleric said.

Speaking to IQNA, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abolfazl Tabatabaei Ashkezari, representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Syria, said that the enemies’ strategy has always been to foment discord and disunity among Muslims and weaken Muslim countries.

He added that weakening the axis of resistance has been one of the main targets of the enemies in order to dominate the region.

They have tried many tactics, for example, to make Syria move away from the axis of resistance, he said.

“They have failed to do so and will not succeed in doing it in the future, either.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric referred to the crimes committed by terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) and al-Nusra Front in Syria and said the Arab country’s people are against such groups.
